Joan Gladstone

Joan Gladstone is a Laguna Beach–based contemporary painter whose vibrant, stylized works celebrate nostalgia, optimism, and American visual culture. She transforms familiar subjects from the iconography of coastal culture into bold compositions with saturated color, graphic edges, and a sense of expectant immediacy.

Gladstone has served as a Laguna Beach Arts Commissioner and remains actively engaged in the local arts community. Her work is exhibited widely and is held in both private and institutional collections. Her Route 66 series has been shown at the Hilbert Museum of California Art, where one painting entered the permanent collection. In addition, her work has been commissioned by UCI Health and City of Hope for healthcare environments.
