Laura Browning

NOW ON VIEW BY LAURA BROWNING

Morning Light, oil on canvas, 2025

Evoking the serene clarity of sunlit shallows, this luminous painting captures the mesmerizing interplay of light and water with striking realism. Rendered in a gradient of cerulean to aquamarine, the composition immerses the viewer in a tranquil seascape, where delicate ripples and refracted light dance across the sandy sea floor. The artist’s meticulous attention to the fluid geometry of water recalls elements of Photorealism, yet the overall effect remains meditative and atmospheric, aligning with the minimalist sensibility of contemporary coastal abstraction.

Laura Browning's practice is a sustained investigation of "the shifting rhythm of light as it reflects and refracts across water" crystalizing their kinetic dialog in transparent glazes and luminous layers of oil on canvas.

Browning’s exhibition record is international in scope, with solo presentations and group shows in the U.S. and Asia, with representation by galleries in Palm Springs and San Francisco, California, Kennebunkport, Maine, as well as Shanghai, China, and Tokyo, Japan.

Her work is included in major institutions such as Apollo Global Management and the permanent collection of the Mayo Clinic, as well as private residences from San Diego to Lake Tahoe.

Browning’s canvases are featured in Modern Luxury Interiors, and included in curated design contexts by West Elm and Williams Sonoma Home.
