 Stuart Dunkel is a Boston-based artist who is cherished for his small scale, finely rendered and classically composed still life paintings in oil on panel depicting whimsical mice at work and play.

Dunkel is a professional oboist who performed in orchestras in Boston, New York, and Hong Kong. He later pursued the study of classical art at Boston's School of the Museum of Fine Arts, then devoted himself fully to painting in 1994.

Dunkel is a published author of numerous books on music and art. He is represented by multiple galleries nationwide and he directs the Nautilus School of Realist Art in Watertown, Massachusetts.

He hopes viewers will discover a sense of joy, optimism, and playfulness, as well as a sense of classical balance and beauty in his work.
